I am Marcello Sette, an Italian cellist from Bari, currently based in Zurich, where I am pursuing the Master Soloist program at the Zurich University of the Arts under the guidance of Orfeo Mandozzi.
My musical journey has been shaped by some of the most inspiring musicians of our time. I studied at the Stauffer Center for Strings with Antonio Meneses, and at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia with Giovanni Sollima, experiences that deeply influenced both my artistic identity and my approach to sound.
In 2017, I was awarded the Premio Nazionale delle Arti, receiving First Prize and being recognized as the top cello student among all Italian conservatories. Since then, I have been invited to perform at numerous festivals and concert series, including Classiche Forme, the Festival dei Due Mondi, and the Emilia Romagna Festival.
As a soloist and chamber musician, I have performed in major venues across Europe, including the Moscow Conservatory, and have had the privilege of collaborating with outstanding artists such as Beatrice Rana and Gabriel Prokofiev.
My artistic vision is rooted in the Italian cello tradition, while constantly seeking new perspectives, authenticity, and a deeply human connection through music.
